Biography

 

Marlin Khoshaba was born in Ninweh (Mosul), Iraq.  She began to sing at the age of 5. In 1977, Marlin’s family immigrated to join the rest of her family in the United States where they lived in Chicago, Illinois. in 1978, Marlin begin to pursue her dreams and aspirations in singing, music writing and in Fashion Designing. In 1980, Marlin joined the Holy Apostolic church of the East in Chicago, Illinois (Mar Gewargis) There she also volunteered as a youth club where she participated as a board member in organizing events and activities for young youths.  In 1981, Marlin began taking private fundamental Music lessons at Rason Bet Yonan Music School in Chicago, Illinois and thereafter, Marlin began her professional singing career within the Assyrian community and recored and released 8 tapes and CD’s. In 1994, Marlin attended Ray Vogue College of Fashion Design in Chicago, Illinois where she became and entrepreneur and was able to open her own exclusive bridal boutique under the name, Marlin’s Design. Marlin’s signing career allowed her to travel to many corners of the world, Canada, Europe, Australia and the Middle East regions. Currently, Marlin lives in Phoenix, Arizona where her entire family resides today. In 2006, Marlin ventured in Interior Designing and Consultant where she attended Glendale Community College which allows her today to work as freelance Interior Designer.  Currently, Marlin volunteers as a voice and church hymns trainer for the young aspiring youth choir at her local Assyrian Church of the East in Glendale, Arizona. Marlin also actively volunteers with local nonprofit community agencies to support resettled Middle Eastern refugees.
